On October 16, at the 76th Frankfurt International Book Fair held in the Federal Republic of Germany under the motto "Read. Think. Connect," Azerbaijan is once again represented with a special stand, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the Ministry, 4,000 participants from 95 countries have gathered at the fair.
A delegation of local authors and publishers, led by Deputy Minister of Culture Saadat Yusifova, is participating in the event. At the national stand, which features a renewed design, 230 copies of 125 titles related to the culture and history of our country are presented to visitors.
The stand also includes books published as part of "Xalq Bank's" "Xalq Əmanəti" (National Heritage) project. Collaboration meetings are planned with representatives of TEAS Press, Hədəf Publishing, and Qədim Qala Publishing.
The Frankfurt fair, a meeting place for thousands of professionals working in the publishing industry, serves as a crucial platform for establishing new collaborations and exchanging experiences. As part of the fair, the Azerbaijani delegation has held several business meetings.
During a meeting with Stefano Campagnolo, Director of the National Library of Rome, he expressed his pleasure at participating in the forum held in Baku in September 2023, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Library, and praised the event's high level of organization. The discussion also touched on deepening cooperation between the libraries of the two countries, book exchanges, and the implementation of joint projects.
On the opening day of the fair, business meetings were also held with representatives of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, and the Turkish Publishers Association, where issues of cooperation in the fields of publishing and book production were discussed.
The fair will continue until October 20, and a presentation of works by renowned author Rovshan Abdullaoğlu, published in various languages, is also planned.
It should be noted that under the attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev, the book industry in Azerbaijan, like other sectors, is successfully developing. As a result of this support, Azerbaijan has become a part of the international book industry today. The Ministry of Culture continues to focus on promoting the country's achievements in this area on the global stage. Azerbaijan is represented with special stands at famous international book fairs, and our publications are highly valued and awarded. Our country is invited to participate in numerous prestigious book fairs. Azerbaijan will be the "guest of honor" at the 41st Istanbul International Book Fair, to be held from November 2 to 10.
